A Writer's Review of “Into the Whirlwind" by Elizabeth Camden

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{My Review}
Elizabeth Camden's books are ALWAYS delightful. This fourth one is no exception. I literally read it (all) the day it came in the mail. There were things about Into the Whirlwind that were definitely just plain Camden's style--which I have come to love and appreciate over the last few years. There were also things about this fourth book that made it far different than the other three.
I loved the way this book started out! From the very first sentence I was hooked! The first three chapters were just amazing! It's been a very long time since I've read a book that started off with such an exciting intro! Not that the rest of the book wasn't just as good, but wow. I loved it.
I think what makes this book so different from the others is HOW it started. Not only was there excitement and danger--all of Chicago was on fire and the hero and heroine right in the midst of it!--but also an unexpected declaration of long-held-back, secret love! Be still my heart! And it was done so well!
Not many books start out like that. Authors usually work the reader up to some long-awaited proposal... and then they sigh and are content knowing the hero and heroine (of course!) will live happily ever after together. So, it was a little different to have the book go at the romance completely backwards, but it was a good fit for these characters.
I received a paperback copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review. I give Elizabeth Camden's Into the Whirlwind 4 stars.
