A Writer's Review of “Silenced” by Dani Pettrey ~ and Book Giveaway!

{My Review}

This series is worth reading. I just have to say that right up front. Every single one of the four books in the Alaskan Courage series by Dani Pettrey has been well-written, well-thought out and just plain awesome to read. And this, coming from a historical-author-girl who doesn't read much fiction set in contemporary times.

I think Ive been looking forward to this particular book in the series most of all... basically ever since I read book one. There has always been something interesting going on between Kayden and her older brother’s enigmatic friend, Jake Westin. Dani Pettrey did such a fabulous job of stringing us along for just long enough. Not that there was really anything happening between Kayden and Jake all this time (in the three previous books)... it actually had more to do about what wasnt happening. And I LOVED getting to this book, to the point that things finally were happening!!!

And of course, being that its a Dani Pettrey book, it was full of things like high-altitude climbing adventures, a hiking accident turned probable murder, a certain edge of your seat urgency of finding out who was behind all of the trouble, and of course, a perfectly-constructed love-hate relationship between the two main characters.

Silenced by Dani Pettrey currently has a rating of 4.61 out of 5 stars (from 88 ratings) on Goodreads. I was given a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book came out May 6, 2014.

A relaxing day of rock climbing takes a disturbing turn when Kayden McKenna’s route leads her to a face-to-face encounter with a dead climber. Is it a terrible accident or something sinister? When the case is handed to the overburdened sheriff, he turns to Jake Westin. With Jake’s past now revealed, he’s ready to use his talent for investigation again-–but he could never prepare for where the case will take him.

Kayden and Jake soon realize that the death was no accident. And worse, it seems the killer is on to them. When strange things begin happening in Yancey, Jake is terrified that once again his world may put someone he loves in danger.

But the truth is far worse than either of them imagine.

I loved the other books in this series. They were wonderful. Kayden and Jake just might be my favorite couple in this series.
