Kim Vogel Sawyer is a "new author" for me... though I know very well she isn't a "new author" by any means. I think this is her fifteenth book with Bethany House. The reason I finally decided to give her a try was because I was in the mood for a WWII romance. There aren't many out there (yet) unless I want to go grab one of my 1940's era Grace Livingston Hill books.
I was very pleased with this book, which isn't surprising considering her record as a best-selling author. I loved that there was a past and present friendship between Lydia Eldredge and Dr. Micah Hatcher. I liked them both a lot, though they weren't written nearly as deeply as I usually like. I can tell it's simply the author's style though; she writes sweet romance very well. And considering this was her first try at writing in a new genre (WWII era), she did a superb job at it.
Bethany House Publishers gave me paperback version of this book to read in exchange for my completely honest review. I give Kim Vogel Sawyer's Sweet Sanctuary 4 Stars.
