{About Duchess}

Book Three in the Daughters of Fortune series.

When her country needs her, will she have the courage to surrender her glittering world and her one true love?

The golden age of Hollywood is in the business of creating stars. Rosie Worth, now starlet Roxy Price, has found everything she’s wanted in the glamour of the silver screen. With adoring fans and a studio-mogul husband, she’s finally silenced the voices—and grief—of the past. Her future shines bright…until the fated Black Friday when it all comes crashing down. When Roxy loses everything, she finds herself disgraced and penniless. Her only hope is to join forces with Belgian duke Rolfe Van Horne, a longtime film investor. But Rolfe is not who he seems, and he has other plans for Roxy and her movies—plans to support a growing unrest in Europe, plans that could break her heart and endanger her life. A Review of “Heiress” by Susan May Warren

{Elizabeth's Review}

First off, I'd like to say that Heiress is a really great book! It's been on my 'To Read' list for much longer than it should have been. I don't know why I was hesitant at first, because I wound up absolutely falling in love with the complex story!

Heiress Susan May Warren
This is the first novel I've read by author Susan May Warren. I found her style emotionally descriptive and entirely captivating. Heiress is the first in a series titled "Daughters of Fortune", chronicling the lives of two sisters; Esme and Jinx. I loved how completely opposite the two sisters were. They each had so much emotional depth and chose totally different paths to take in their pursuits for happiness. Both Esme and Jinx experience several realistic life-changing events that culminated into a very rich development of their characters. Right from the start, you feel emotionally attached to these sisters.

Esme is the non-conformist, intent on bucking all preconceived notions placed upon her life to pursue her true passions. Giving up her place in society and her inheritance, she wants love and fulfillment at any cost. However, Jinx's primary focus in life is her duty to her distinguished family; she wants nothing more than to take her place in society and to make them proud. Making the "right" choices by the standards of her peers, she is thrown into the nightmarish world of a woman trapped in an abusive marriage.

Filled with twists and turns throughout the novel, Susan May Warren enthralls the reader from the first page. Her ability to weave life-like scenarios through the lives of both main characters appeals to women of any age and circumstance. To me, this book is not limited to any particular age group or type of reader. Before I even finished the book, I knew I would whole-heartedly give it 5 stars!

{More about Heiress}

Book One in the Daughters of Fortune series: The beautiful heiress daughters of newspaper magnate August Price have been given everything their hearts desire. But what if they want only to be loved--without an enormous price tag attached? When one daughter pursues a desirable marriage, she secures for herself a comfortable and glamorous life. But among the duties of privilege, will she also find the happily-ever-after she seeks? Her sister rejects the trappings of wealth, choosing instead to build a new life on the still-untamed frontier. Will she find happiness in independence or discover that she's left her heart behind in New York's glittering society? Set in the opulent world of the Gilded Age, each woman discovers that being an heiress just might cost her everything--including the chance for true love.

A Writer's Review of “You Don't Know Me" by Susan May Warren

{My Review}

You Don’t Know Me is the sixth A Deep Haven Novel Susan May Warren has written over the years. It was much different than the first three, which were published years ago. The first three were good, but I can tell that Warren’s writing has been more finely honed since then. Which isn't at all surprising since she's a great encourager of aspiring authors like myself, going so far as to make an entire online community of Christian writers called My Book Therapy.

I haven’t read many of Warren’s books lately, but that was because I’ve been in my historical romance cocoon during the last few years trying to decide what kind of historical romance I wanted to write myself. I do like her books, and I knew going in to this blog tour that I would like whatever it was You Don’t Know Me was about strictly based on what a great story-crafter she is.

You Don’t Know Me was poignant. And even though it was a contemporary romantic suspense, it had that certain mood that I adore reading. I love it when at the beginning of a novel, you just know everything is hopeless—everything goes wrong, and it starts piling up so fast the heroine doesn’t know what to do, where to turn, how to survive. And yet, in the end—after many trials and heartaches—she gets everything she’s always wanted.

Perfection.

I was given a paperback copy of this book by Tyndale House in order to read and give my honest review for a LitFuse Publicity Blog Tour. I give Susan May Warren’s You Don’t Know Me 4 Stars.

{About the Book}

You Don’t Know Me, A Deep Haven Novel

Sometimes the secrets we keep to protect ourselves can be our undoing.

To all who know her, Annalise Decker is a model wife and mother. She’s a permanent member of the PTA, never misses a sporting event, and is constantly campaigning for her husband’s mayoral race.

No one knows that Annalise was once Deidre O’Reilly, a troubled young woman whose testimony put a dangerous criminal behind bars. Relocated through the Witness Security Program to the quaint harbor town of Deep Haven, Deidre received a new identity and a fresh start, which began when she fell in love with local real estate agent Nathan Decker.

Twenty years later, Annalise couldn’t be more unprepared for her past to catch up with her. When Agent Frank Harrison arrives with news that the man she testified against is out on parole and out for revenge, Annalise is forced to face the consequences of her secrets. Will she run again, or will she finally find the courage to trust those she loves most with both her past and her future?
